10 Reasons to Visit:

Bachelorette Getaway: Hyatt Regency Chesapeake

Sightseeing is always fun and exciting, but there’s also something totally relaxing and indulgent about not having to get into a car for the entire length of your getaway. That’s right: no Ubers, no Lyfts, no traffic or GPSing. With so much to see and do, the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake in Cambridge, Maryland is a great place for a girlfriends getaway that will let you stay put while not staying still for the length of your stay. Here’s ten of our favorite parts of this resort, which is only about a two hour drive from Philly.

  1. Chesapeake views:

With a boardwalk, lookout pier and even a mini beach (!!!) you’ll never feel too far away from the water. Get a room with a view and enjoy waterfront balconies that can hold their own against any ocean view. Don’t forget to take group pics on the pier and set up a Beachside Bonfire ($150 gets you a private beach reservation, fire pit, bundle of wood, fire starter and s’mores kit for four).

  1. Pools, pools, and more pools:

Getaways require aqua-therapy and there’s no shortage of places to float, swim and soak at this hotel. Choose from the infinity pool that appears to seamlessly meet the bay, indoor/outdoor hot tub jacuzzis, a water slide and a large indoor pool with water volleyball — or don’t choose, do them all.

  1. Spaaaaaa….Ahhhhh:

No girls weekend away is complete without some pampering and the Hyatt Regency definitely has that part covered. Sago Spa & Salon offers a full menu of therapeutic options, all of which include access to a gorgeous lounges, locker rooms, sauna and complimentary snacks. Treatments include massages, facials, wraps and scrubs. Might we suggest a nourishing Superfoods Pro-Radiance facial, which not only provides detoxing benefits for glowing skin, but also will leave you feeling transported to another world of pure relaxation.

  1. Keep Moving:

When you’re ready to mix it up and pick up the pace from lounging and relaxing, there’s plenty of activities at the resort, with all the equipment supplied so nothing extra to pack. Play tennis, volleyball, frisbee and mini golf, all just a few steps outside the hotel. For more serious golfers, check out River Marsh Golf Club, that’s a destination spot for golfers.

  1. Trails and Wildlife:

Between the Blue Heron Rookery, Blackwater Adventures and the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, take in the unique abundance of nature that the Chesapeake provides with no need to travel outside the resort.

  1. Picture perfect rooms:

Spacious, modern, luxurious — just a few words that describe the hotel rooms here at the Hyatt. Grab a few connector suites and have plenty of shared living spaces, but the privacy of your own bedrooms.

  1. Dining:

With six dining spots you won’t run out of options, whether you’re in the mood for a poolside snack or high end dining. The Blue Point Provision Company is known for its gorgeous views and fresh caught seafood.

  1. Game Away:

Tucked away is an awesome arcade with a variety of full-sized video games plus ping pong and air hockey. There’s also a chic little billiards room that’s close to the bar and perfect for wagering.

  1. So many places to chill:

Whether it’s rocking chairs overlooking the water, lounge chairs by the pools or sofas by the many fireplaces, there’s plenty of spots to gather and chill.

  1. Activities:

“Dive-In Movies” (movies on a big screen over the indoor pool), Yahtzee Challenge, Potato Sack Races, Jump Rope and Cannonball Contests, yoga, bingo and wildlife demos — there’s always something new happening each day over the weekends at the resort.
